Polish municipalities launch asbestos removal subsidy programs
Local governments in Poland, specifically Kartuzy and Świdnica, have launched application processes for subsidies to assist with asbestos removal.
In Kartuzy, the program covers the years 2026-2027 and is open to individuals, housing communities, entrepreneurs, and legal entities. The funding can cover up to 100 percent of costs related to dismantling, transport, and disposal. Applications must be submitted by September 30, 2026. The municipality will select a single contractor for the entire area, and entities that have already received support through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan are excluded.
In Świdnica, the program offers a refund of up to 80 percent of eligible costs, with limits of 5,000 PLN for individuals and 7,000 PLN for entrepreneurs. The total budget for the program is 60,000 PLN, and funds will be allocated based on the order in which complete applications are received. The application window runs from August 10 until September 30, 2026. Like the Kartuzy program, this is a reimbursement model where applicants must first pay for the services and then submit invoices to receive the subsidy.
