Polish municipalities offer subsidies for asbestos removal

Local governments in Poland are offering financial assistance to residents for the removal of asbestos-containing materials. In Barwice, the municipality has opened an application process for funding to cover the dismantling, collection, transport, and disposal of asbestos from properties. This initiative is part of a long-term program running from 2022 to 2032 aimed at reducing health and environmental risks. Applications in Barwice are accepted until September 11, 2026, though final approval depends on securing funds from the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Szczecin.

Similarly, in Nowa Sól, residents can apply for subsidies to assist with the dismantling, transport, and disposal of asbestos found in roofs, facade plates, balconies, and ventilation ducts. The deadline for submitting applications in Nowa Sól is September 20. Both programs emphasize that asbestos removal must be performed by professional, specialized companies to prevent the release of dangerous microscopic fibers that can cause serious respiratory diseases and cancer.
