Polish municipality releases emergency preparedness video for residents

The Gmina Łęczyce (Poland) has published an interactive educational film that explains how to recognise alarm signals, assemble an emergency evacuation backpack and respond to crises. The material, aimed at all age groups, also warns against misinformation during emergencies and encourages repeated viewing to reinforce procedures.

An audit of selected municipalities in the Świętokrzyskie region examined compliance with the new EU‑mandated selective collection of textile and clothing waste, which came into force on 1 January 2025. While the examined gminas had the necessary documentation and organisational arrangements, auditors noted weak public‑information efforts and that several local authorities had not prepared or updated required environmental programmes or reports.

Both initiatives reflect Poland’s broader push to improve civil protection and waste‑management practices at the local level.
