Polish officials discuss AI in education at Igrzyska Wolności

At the XIII edition of the Igrzyska Wolności festival in Łódź, held under the theme ‘Tech for Humanity’, Polish Ministry of National Education officials addressed the integration of artificial intelligence in schools.

Minister Barbara Nowacka participated in a panel discussing the challenges of AI in education. She emphasized that AI is a permanent fixture that requires both teachers and students to develop skills for responsible and safe usage. Nowacka noted that while the Ministry is working to equip schools with modern technology and develop teacher competencies, hardware alone is insufficient. Schools must also teach students to recognize AI-generated misinformation, social media addiction, and the risks of digital isolation.

Other Ministry representatives in attendance included Deputy Minister Katarzyna Lubnauer and Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz.
