AI integration in Polish education
Overview
The Copernicus Science Centre launched the ZBADAI project, an initiative funded by the Ministry of Education to provide AI training for 5,000 teachers in Poland. The program includes interactive modules and practical tasks designed to increase educator confidence, while also involving students from 200 primary and secondary schools in research projects.
Following these training efforts, officials from the Ministry of National Education addressed the integration of artificial intelligence at the Igrzyska Wolności festival. Minister Barbara Nowacka emphasized that AI is a “permanent fixture” requiring both teachers and students to develop skills for responsible usage. The Ministry’s strategy focuses on developing teacher competencies and teaching students to recognize risks such as AI-generated misinformation, social media addiction, and digital isolation.
