Polish Pilgrimages to Lipnica Murowana and Rajgrodzie on July 18, 2026
On Saturday, 18 July 2026, the parish of Okocim organized its first parish foot pilgrimage to the sanctuary of St Simon in Lipnica Murowana. About 15 km of the route passed through local streets and included three rests, one at the volunteer fire station in Chronów, before reaching the shrine around 10 a.m. a Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. for the pilgrims, with prayers, singing and water provided by the organizers. Participants were asked to bring their own food and arrange return transport.
Later the same day, women from the dioceses of Ełk, Łomża and Białystok gathered for the 21st annual pilgrimage to the statue of the Queen of Families in Rajgrod. Arrivals came by bus, on foot from Bargłów Kościelny and by bicycle from Suwałki. Auxiliary Bishop Dariusz Zalewski presided over the Mass, preceded by a Way of the Cross on the Kalwaria paths. The event featured a conference by Magdalena Guziak‑Nowak on family education and discussing children’s sexual development, emphasizing the role of the Mother of God in supporting families.
