Polish PM Donald Tusk urges NATO and EU to take Medvedev's drone threats seriously

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on the European Union and NATO to treat the statements and actions of Russian officials with greater seriousness after former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued new threats following a drone strike that hit a residential building in Galaţi, Romania. Medvedev warned that the war continues, EU citizens will no longer sleep peacefully and that this is only the beginning.

Tusk warned that Russian provocations are becoming more frequent and said NATO must “seriously grasp these facts and words.” Lithuania’s foreign minister Kęstutis Budrys also urged the alliance to increase pressure on Moscow. Romania’s foreign minister Oana Coiu said the incident meets the criteria for invoking NATO’s Article 4, which triggers consultations among member states when a member’s security or territorial integrity is threatened. The report added that Russia has withdrawn its ambassador from Armenia and threatened an “Ukrainian scenario.”
