Polish police arrest armed robbers after fuel station and market raids

On 4 June 2026, a 43‑year‑old man entered a fuel station in Stale, Subcarpathian region, carrying a black bag. He withdrew a hammer, struck the checkout counter and demanded cash, cigarettes and alcohol. He left with 4,070 zł and other items. Police tracked his trail to a forest, recovered his bicycle and clothing, and arrested him. He has been charged with robbery using a dangerous instrument and faces up to 20 years in prison, with a three‑month pre‑trial detention.

Two days later, on 6 June 2026, a 32‑year‑old man in Płock, Masovian region, stole beer from a pallet near a market. When a security guard intervened, he struck the guard and then attacked a policewoman who arrived on the scene. All stolen goods were recovered and he was detained. He faces charges of robbery with violence and assault on law‑enforcement officers, carrying a potential sentence of up to 10 years, also placed in temporary custody for three months. No injuries were reported in either incident.
