Polish police arrest dozens of suspects in car theft and related crime crackdown

Police forces in the Legionowo district arrested five individuals on a single day, including men awaiting prison terms for theft and a woman sentenced for robbery. The operation, coordinated by the local police command and its outstations, resulted in all detainees being placed in penitentiaries to serve their sentences.

In a separate sweep in the Wołomin area, detectives from the capital's anti‑car‑theft unit detained five men aged 29 to 50, linked to an organized group that steals vehicles and trades dismantled parts. Six searches of residences yielded two stolen cars—a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Yaris—numerous auto parts, an electronic stealing device, cash worth 6,800 zł and 600 €, and other evidence. The suspects face dozens of charges, including vehicle burglary, illegal trafficking of parts, unlawful possession of firearms and participation in a criminal organization. All are held in pre‑trial detention.
