Polish police arrest two Romanian nationals for luxury car theft
Polish authorities, including the specialized Skorpion anti-crime group, have arrested two Romanian citizens in Rzeszów for the alleged misappropriation of a luxury Mercedes valued at 800,000 PLN (approximately 180,000 EUR).
The vehicle was rented from a company in the Białołęka district of Warsaw. The suspects reportedly deactivated the car’s tracking devices and failed to return the vehicle on time, after which their contact information became unavailable.
Police investigations suggest the 35-year-old suspect may be involved in luxury car thefts across Europe. The duo, aged 35 and 27, were apprehended while allegedly planning to steal another Mercedes from a rental company in Rzeszów. A court has approved a three-month preventive arrest for the 35-year-old, who faces up to 10 years in prison.
