Polish police detain drunk drivers in Libiąż and Ciechanów

Police officers in Poland conducted routine traffic checks that led to the arrest of two drivers for operating vehicles while intoxicated. In Libiąż, a 48‑year‑old man was stopped while driving a Chrysler; a breath‑alcohol test showed a level of 1.8 ‰. He faces up to three years in prison, a driving ban and possible fines.

In Ciechanów, a 28‑year‑old man with a revoked licence was stopped while driving a Volkswagen with four passengers. The test indicated more than 1.5 ‰ of alcohol. He also attempted to mislead officers by giving his brother’s identity. He faces the same potential penalties, including imprisonment, a ban on driving and a fine.
