Polish police fine drivers for exceeding speed limits by over 50 km/h
In Piotrków Trybunalski, police conducting a "Prędkość" operation stopped a 23‑year‑old driver of a Ford who was travelling 57 km/h above the allowed speed in an urban area. He received a 3,000‑zł fine, 13 penalty points and a three‑month licence suspension.
On the DK35 near Małuszów, a separate speed‑enforcement action by the group SPEED caught a driver who exceeded the limit by 54 km/h. The offender was fined 1,500 zł, given 13 penalty points and also faced a three‑month licence suspension. Both actions underline police efforts to curb excessive speeds, which are a leading cause of serious road accidents in Poland.
