Polish politicians face internal friction and resignations

Political tensions are rising within Poland as members of different parties express dissatisfaction with current leadership and coalition dynamics.

Artur Łącki, a Member of Parliament representing the Szczecin district, sparked controversy by labeling several coalition partners, including PSL, 2050, Razem, and Konfederacja, as “pseudo-parties” on social media. His comments were directed at parties that accepted invitations to discussions with President Karol Nawrocki regarding the Constitutional Tribunal. Jarosław Rzepa, a member of the PSL, has demanded a public apology, calling the remarks “outrageous and shameful.”

In Poznań, three local councilors, Klaudia Strzelecka, Sara Szynkowska vel Sęk, and Mateusz Rozmiarek, have resigned from the Law and Justice (PiS) party. In a formal letter addressed to Jarosław Kaczyński, the councilors cited growing divisions within the party and a distancing from the achievements of the United Right government from 2017 to 2023. They stated that they no longer wish to participate in disputes that overshadow shared values and hinder cooperation.
