Polish pool closed and municipal water banned after bacterial contamination detected
A swimming pool on Królowej Jadwigi Street was shut down after officials detected bacteria in the water. The facility will remain closed until thorough disinfection is completed and laboratory tests confirm the water meets safety standards. Residents were reminded to shower thoroughly before using pool facilities.
In the Sobolew municipality, more than 3,100 people were ordered not to drink, cook with, or wash using tap water after samples revealed the presence of coliform bacteria and enterococci. Alternative water supply points were opened, and the water network is being chlorinated and disinfected. The ban applies to several villages in the area and will stay in effect until the water is declared safe.
