Polish Prime Minister Tusk warns Russia may attack a NATO member within months

Poland’s prime minister, Donald Tusk, told reporters that U.S. intelligence warns Russia could carry out a provocation against a NATO state in the coming months. He outlined possible scenarios ranging from missile or drone strikes on critical infrastructure to a limited ground incursion or a “false‑flag” operation designed to force the alliance to suspend aid to Ukraine.

Tusk said the weeks ahead are “critical” and that Poland is preparing for various contingencies ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara. He urged NATO members to treat their collective defence commitments seriously and highlighted the need for continued support to Ukraine despite recent diplomatic strains with Warsaw.

The warning follows earlier reports of Russian drones violating Polish airspace and a broader pattern of reconnaissance over several NATO countries, raising concerns about hybrid warfare tactics aimed at testing the alliance’s response.
