Polish rail network expands services and highlights top passenger routes
The daily timetable at Racibórz station now includes 55 passenger trains on weekdays, up from 28 twenty years ago, with new direct connections to cities such as Poznań, Kraków, Warsaw, Olsztyn, Munich and Vienna. Historical comparisons show a steady rise in service frequency and long‑distance links since the 1980s.
In 2025, PKP Intercity reported that the most travelled domestic routes were Gdańsk–Gdynia (6.67 million passengers), Warsaw–Siedlce (3.8 million) and Warsaw–Kraków. Eighteen routes carried over one million travelers, while the overall network continues to concentrate market share in a single operator.
