Polish railway upgrades include Reda station revamp and new lines

Polish State Railways (PKP SA) launched a tender to modernise the historic Reda railway station, aiming to restore passenger services and add a waiting hall, toilets and commercial space, with accessibility upgrades planned for completion after the project design stage in late 2026.

The Głogów‑Żagań–Niegosławice line is set to receive a €300 million upgrade, targeting speeds of 80‑100 km/h and a 2027 start of works, backed by a safety‑and‑defence fund from the Bank of Poland.

In the Pomeranian region, work will resume on the Lipusz‑Bytów line (line 212), with a 75 million‑złoty investment to reinstate passenger service after more than 30 years, targeting 120 km/h operation by December 2027.

Łódź’s city government apologised for delays in installing “intelligent” safety poles on the Piotrkowska promenade and announced that test installations will run on weekends from August.

Płock announced a month‑long refurbishment of 22 bus‑stop benches, involving sanding, impregnation, painting and re‑installation, at a cost of 15.5 thousand złoty, with completion expected by 26 August.
