Polish retailers E. Leclerc and Lidl expand store hours and openings

From 14 June 2026, the E. Leclerc supermarket in Radom will be open every Sunday, using a newly created "reading room" facility to qualify for an exemption to the country's Sunday trade ban. The move has sparked criticism from labour unions, who argue it circumvents existing regulations.

On 9 July, the Sekunda shopping park in Włoszczowa opened, featuring the first Lidl in the town alongside 24 other retailers. The new complex provides about 13,000 m² of commercial space and includes a variety of stores, services and a 415‑spot car park, marking the largest recent retail investment in the region.
