Polish road crash in Białka Tatrzańska kills 10‑year‑old

On Monday at about 16:45, a 46‑year‑old woman driving a Toyota on national road 49 near Białka Tatrzańska, Poland, left the roadway, entered a roadside ditch and collided with a wooden fence.

Four children aged 9‑10 were traveling in the vehicle. One 10‑year‑old suffered severe injuries when a timber fence piece pierced the car, was extracted by firefighters with specialised equipment and air‑lifted to a hospital, but later died despite medical efforts. The driver was reported sober and had blood taken for analysis. Police and prosecutors secured the vehicle, are conducting further investigations, and other occupants escaped with minor or no injuries. Emergency crews, including a medical helicopter and a psychologist, responded on site to assist the victims.
