Polish road incidents: tree crushes car in Piastowo; driver hits 238 km/h on S3
A 58‑year‑old man driving a Seat in Piastowo near Elbląg was caught under a tree that fell onto his vehicle after strong winds. The driver was the sole occupant and escaped without injury. Police and fire crews arrived quickly, cleared the road and restored traffic flow.
On the S3 expressway near Międzyrzecze, a 52‑year‑old driver of a BMW was recorded traveling at 238 km/h, far above the 120 km/h speed limit. Police stopped the vehicle, issuing a 2,500 PLN fine and adding 15 penalty points to the driver’s licence.
Both incidents highlight the dangers of extreme weather and reckless driving on Polish roads and the rapid response of traffic police.
