Polish police seize drugs in Miechów and detain Egyptian citizen
On 15 June, officers of the Miechów County criminal police in Poland stopped a Volvo during a routine traffic check. While the driver showed no violations, the behaviour of two male passengers raised suspicion. A search of the vehicle uncovered a substance resembling mephedrone, and both men were detained.
Further investigations led police to one of the suspects' apartments, where two additional men were found. A thorough search revealed further illegal drugs – mephedrone, meta‑amphetamine and marijuana – amounting to almost 15 grams. The foreign national, a 43‑year‑old Egyptian citizen, admitted responsibility for all seized substances. He was held overnight, transferred to the Kraków Border Guard, and placed in a detention centre awaiting a possible deportation decision. The case remains under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, with additional arrests not ruled out.
