Polish parishes observe Corpus Christi Octave and Sacred Heart feast
On 7 June 2026 (the X ordinary Sunday), a number of Roman‑Catholic parishes in Poland published detailed liturgical programmes for the ongoing Octave of Corpus Christi and the upcoming Feast of the Sacred Heart on 12 June. The announcements, issued by parishes in Otmuchów, Trzebinia, Toruń, Warsaw, Mętków, Myślenice and others, list daily masses (typically at 17:00‑17:30), evening processions with banners, the blessing of wreaths and flowers, and special devotions such as the Litany to the Sacred Heart and the Fatima novena.
Parish bulletins also call for charitable collections in metal boxes to fund the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw, organise pilgrimages to sites such as Święta Anna and Ratowa, and promote youth activities, parish council elections and summer camps. Children are encouraged to participate in processions, sprinkle flowers and attend catechetical sessions.
Because the Sacred‑Heart celebration falls on a Friday, the usual meat‑abstinence rule is lifted. The combined programme highlights the coordinated effort of Polish dioceses to mark a week of Eucharistic devotion, community prayer and outreach.
