Polish ruling coalition faces internal tension and polling uncertainty

The Polish governing coalition, comprising Koalicja Obywatelska, PSL, Polska 2050, and Lewica, is facing internal instability and divided public opinion regarding its future. Tobiasz Bocheński, a Member of the European Parliament for Law and Justice, has criticized the coalition, specifically targeting the PSL and Polska 2050. Bocheński characterized the PSL as a party focused on maintaining local government positions and suggested that the coalition's program lacks integrity.

A recent SW Research poll commissioned by Onet indicates a split in public sentiment regarding whether a joint electoral list for these parties would help them retain power in 2027. Approximately 36.7 percent of respondents believe a joint list would assist the coalition, while 36.3 percent believe it would not. The survey revealed a generational divide: nearly 48 percent of voters under 24 believe a joint list would fail to maintain power, whereas 42.2 percent of voters aged 50 and older believe it would be successful.
