Polish Senior Initiatives Boost Safety and Engagement in Elbląg and Bełchatów

In Elbląg, a community debate organized under the "Bezpieczny Senior" (Safe Senior) campaign was held at the Sielanka housing cooperative's cultural centre. Deputy City Police Commander Zbigniew Przyborowski attended and speakers discussed common scams targeting seniors, such as "grandchild" and "policeman" fraud, as well as risks linked to modern apps like Moja Komenda and BLIK. The event promoted the "Stop Burglary" campaign, the nationwide #ZnamTeNumery initiative, and distributed safety‑related gadgets to participants.

In Bełchatów, the city's Senior Academy concluded its fourth edition with 311 participants attending 133 events, including workshops, dances, rehabilitation sessions, literary meetings and a senior sports Olympiad. Vice‑president Wojciech Piasecki praised the seniors' enthusiasm and announced that the next edition will begin in October after a summer break.
