Polish seniors targeted with free fraud‑prevention webinars and police workshops

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) is hosting a free online webinar on 29 June 2026 for seniors and their caregivers. The session, part of the CEDUR education project, is organized together with the Government Commissioner for Senior Policy, the Financial Ombudsman and the Police Headquarters. Its purpose is to highlight risks on the financial market, explain how fraudsters operate and advise participants on how to protect themselves.

In early June, the Warsaw Police District II and the City Safety Centre held a preventive meeting for seniors in the Mokotów district. Held at the Parish of St. Mary at Domaniewska 20, the event taught attendees how to recognise fake SMS and e‑mail messages, avoid common scams such as “grand‑child”, “policeman” or “bank employee” fraud, and protect their belongings in public transport and crowded places. Participants received an informational leaflet titled “Senior, Grandparent… Do not be fooled. Stay safe.”
