Polish sirens sound in Lublin as Russia launches missile strike on Ukraine

On the night of 29‑30 July, Russia carried out an air attack on Ukraine using ballistic missiles, hitting Kyiv (one fatality) and damaging two residential blocks in Lviv. In response, Poland scrambled its air‑defence fighters and activated emergency sirens in Lublin and most of the Lublin voivodeship. The alarm was lifted after a few minutes. Marcin Bubicz, spokesperson for the Lublin governor, confirmed the sirens were triggered on the decision of the Government Centre for Security and were linked to Russian air operations over Ukraine.

Separately, the United States conducted a retaliatory strike on Iran, targeting facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps after the IRGC launched ballistic missiles from Iranian territory. The U.S. operation aimed to reduce Iran’s ability to attack U.S. forces and regional shipping.
