Polish Social Security (ZUS) Medical Commissions Relocated to Gdańsk and Łódź
Effective from 1 January 2026, the jurisdiction of ZUS medical commissions handling cases from the Bydgoszcz and Toruń branches will be transferred to offices in Gdańsk and Łódź. The change, prompted by staffing shortages, also moves pending objections, allegations of errors, and supervisory cases that were not resolved by 30 July. Additionally, the size of the commissions will be reduced from three members to a single member, with three‑member panels retained only for exceptional situations. The relocation and restructuring are set to remain in force until the end of 2026.
Krystyna Michałek, spokesperson for the Kuyavian‑Pomeranian ZUS, confirmed the adjustments as a response to the lack of personnel and outlined the new procedural arrangements for affected claimants.
