Polish sports organizations expand community and senior programs

The Krajowe Zrzeszenie LZS is continuing its ‘LZS – Aktywna Wieś’ (Active Village) project, commissioned by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. The initiative aims to popularize sports and healthy lifestyles in rural areas across 16 Polish voivodeships. For the remainder of 2026, the project has scheduled several regional events, including weightlifting tournaments in Nidzica, village games in Resko, and shooting championships in Kłanino.

In a separate development regarding the expansion of community sports, representatives from the Polish Gymnastics Association (PZG) attended the ‘Golden Age’ event in Les Sables d’Olonne, France. This visit aligns with the PZG’s ‘Gymnastics for All’ strategic development plan for 2026–2028, which focuses on promoting physical activity among adults and seniors. The delegation aims to use insights from the international event to enhance senior-focused gymnastics programs within Poland.
