Polish teachers slated for net 2590 zł vacation payout in 2026 amid low class‑tutor wages
Teachers employed under Poland's Teacher Card will receive a vacation allowance of 2,943.23 zł gross (approximately 2,590 zł net) for the 2025‑2026 school year. The payment does not depend on income, requires no application and is scheduled for the end of August 2026. Full‑time teachers employed from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026 receive the full amount, with proportional reductions for part‑time contracts. The allowance does not preclude teachers from applying for additional holiday support programmes.
At the same time, many teachers are reluctant to take on class‑tutor (wychowawca) duties because the legally mandated stipend is low. The minimum supplement is 300 zł gross per month for an entire class – roughly 10 zł per student for a 30‑day month – and even where municipalities have raised it to 500 zł, it remains insufficient, contributing to burnout and difficulties in staffing classes.
