Polish teenager injured in dive at Thessaloniki pier

A 22‑year‑old Polish citizen, identified as Sebastian Kempisty, suffered severe injuries after diving head‑first from the Skała Peraias pier in Thessaloniki, Greece, despite a sign prohibiting dives in the shallow water. Lifeguards rescued him unconscious, administered oxygen and rushed him to Ippokratis Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a neck fracture and is being examined for possible head trauma. He remains intubated in the intensive‑care unit and is in critical condition; his family has been notified.

The incident highlights ongoing non‑compliance with local safety warnings at the popular beach promenade.
