Polish tourist rescued in Romania's Custura Sărății mountains

A 20‑year‑old Polish tourist became exhausted while climbing in the Custura Sărății area of the Romanian Carpathians. At around 22:00 he called the emergency number 112, reporting he could no longer continue his descent.

Mountain police and rescue teams located him near a marked trail, assessed that he had no serious medical issues, and escorted him safely to the nearest mountain hut. Authorities used the incident to remind visitors to choose routes appropriate to their experience and to verify trail markings before setting out.
