Polish tourists surge to Croatia as prices rise; embassy warns and police patrols coast

Travel to Croatia remains popular among Poles despite higher costs. Data from eSky.pl shows a 60 % year‑on‑year increase in July flight bookings, with the average weekly family trip now costing about 7,200 zł (up from 7,800 zł a year earlier). While prices for items such as espresso, pizza and Hvar accommodation have risen, many travellers are opting for higher‑standard hotels, premium apartments and private villas.

The Polish Embassy in Zagreb has issued warnings about fraudulent accommodation offers and stresses the need to verify listings, register travel in the Odyseusz system and retain parking payment receipts. It also advises drivers to respect local parking rules, which can carry heavy fines. From 1 July to 29 August, Polish police officers will be on the Croatian coast, conducting document and alcohol checks, assisting in traffic incidents, and providing help at information points, aiming to prevent conflicts and support tourists in emergencies.
