Polish towns allocate over 15 million PLN for library upgrades

The mayor of Nowy Targ, Grzegorz Watycha, signed a contract with the firm PROFES from Skawa to adapt a historic building on Rynek 4 into the Municipal Public Library. The renovation is budgeted at 10.8 million zł, with the contractor required to obtain an occupancy permit by the end of July 2027.

In Cieszyn, the municipal library completed a technical modernization of its storage facilities. The project, costing about 5.14 million zł, replaced outdated HVAC and ventilation systems, added automated climate control, upgraded fire‑alarm equipment, and improved accessibility with a new lift and Braille signage. Funding came from a 1.78 million zł grant from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, with the remainder covered by the town’s budget and own resources.
