Poland rolls out multiple local road renovation projects
Polish municipalities are carrying out extensive road‑works in several cities and towns. In Kraków, the Tyniecka Street segment will be closed on Saturday for the final phase of a reconstruction, including a new 100‑kN water culvert and temporary bus stops, with completion targeted for late August. In the town of Dawidy Bankowe, works on Długa Street began on 16 June 2026, covering sidewalks, pavement replacement and drainage improvements, with full completion expected by July.
Łódź’s Kniaziewicza Street entered its final stage, with new pavement laid on most of the second segment and remaining work on sidewalks and the final asphalt layer, aiming for a summer finish. The nearby town of Bychawa started modernising Maria Dąbrowskiej Street, installing new sidewalks, drainage, lighting and a water network, funded by a government road development fund and planned for completion in June 2027. In Zielona Góra, a 2.6‑km stretch of Poznańska Street is being rebuilt, including road reconstruction, upgraded sidewalks, bus bays and improved cycling paths, with works scheduled around the school calendar.
Additional projects include the refurbishment of Poznań’s Grochowiaka, Kisielewskiego, Niedbalskiego and Bohuszewiczówny streets, set to continue until January 2027, and a major upgrade of the MPK Olsztyn bus depot at Sikorskiego Avenue to accommodate electric buses and install photovoltaic panels. All projects aim to enhance traffic safety, public transport efficiency and urban infrastructure across Poland.
