Polish towns Chorzele and Chmielnik launch major folk music festivals
The three‑day Dni Chorzel 2026 festival began on 31 July in Chorzele, drawing local residents and regional visitors. The opening day featured performances by youth groups, the band W Innym Stanie, Imperium, and a headline set by Bajorson that attracted large crowds. Subsequent evenings are scheduled to include acts such as Pitbull Crew, Aleksandra Czarzasta‑Zapadka, and well‑known singer Jacek Stachursky, with a family‑oriented program on the final day.
On 2 August, the town of Chmielnik will host the final of the 26th County Folk Ensemble Review, showcasing more than 300 folk artists from the Kielce region. The event on the market square will present a wide range of singing and dancing groups, including the likes of Zespół Śpiewaczy "Kumotry" and Zespół Folklorystyczny "Brzezinianki", continuing a tradition that promotes regional folklore.
Both festivals highlight the vibrant local cultural scene in Poland’s Masovian and Świętokrzyskie voivodeships, offering concerts, traditional music, and community entertainment.
