Polish towns confront major fires and arson incidents

A large fire erupted at an automotive workshop in Wielbark on July 9, engulfing the building that housed 22 cars, fuel containers and LPG cylinders. Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours, preventing explosions and protecting a nearby residential house. No injuries were reported.

In Poznań on July 7, police arrested five Ukrainian boys aged 8 to 12 after a deliberate vehicle arson set fire to five parked cars. The incident was quickly contained by firefighters and the minors were placed under parental care pending family court proceedings.

Both events highlighted the challenges faced by Polish emergency services in handling fire emergencies and raised concerns over safety and criminal activity.
