Kleczew raises waste fees to 32 zł; Zielona Góra says no hike

The municipal council of Kleczew approved an increase in waste‑collection charges to 32 zł per person per month starting 1 July, up 4 zł from the current rate. Residents who do not sort waste will pay 64 zł, while those who compost bio‑waste receive a 2 zł discount. Mayor Mariusz Musiałowski said the rise reflects higher operating costs and the need to balance the waste‑management system, noting that fully covering costs would require a fee of 41 zł. The vote passed by eight votes, with several councillors expressing concern about affordability and urging tighter verification of household occupancy.

In Zielona Góra, waste‑service company ZGK president Mirosław Gruszecki hinted that fees might rise by about 2 zł each year after the summer. Mayor Marcin Pabierowski responded sharply, stating that the president should not make such statements and that no increase is currently planned. The mayor said any decision will wait for the final financial results of the company and will be communicated when settled.
