Polish towns honor 50‑year marriages with presidential medals
In the western Polish town of Krzyżanów, five couples celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a ceremony that included the presentation of state‑issued Medals for Long‑Term Marriage by the President of Poland. The event, attended by the local wójt Tomasz Jakubowski, highlighted the couples' long‑standing families and featured speeches, flowers, diplomas and a specially written poem.
A similar celebration took place in the coastal city of Świnoujście on 8 June 2026, where the mayor Joanna Agatowska handed the same presidential medals to ten local couples. The ceremony underscored the social value of enduring marital bonds and brought together families, municipal officials and community members.
Both events serve as public recognition of enduring relationships, encouraging respect for family stability across Poland.
