Polish towns host free health‑prevention events in August

The city of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski will hold a cancer‑prevention meeting on 10 August at the Municipal Public Library. Organized by the city hall together with the library, the event features speakers Jolanta Malec, president of the ONKOświadomości foundation, and clinical speech‑therapist Aleksandra Galara. Attendees will receive instruction on self‑examining breasts and testicles, learn about head‑and‑neck cancer prevention, and can obtain a free skin analysis with personalized care advice. Relevant books on speech and language will be available for borrowing.

In the Subcarpathian region, the regional branch of the National Health Fund (NFZ) and the Ustrzyki Dolne County Office will co‑host a free health picnic on 9 August at the Bieszczady Cultural Heritage Center. The program includes body‑composition measurements, education on self‑exams using models, addiction‑prevention activities, and on‑site blood‑sugar testing. Participants will receive individualized health guidance and practical tips for maintaining well‑being during the summer.
