Truck driver evades police with hazardous waste on Polish highway

Police and Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa (KAS) pursued a truck on the S10 and A1 highways near Toruń after the driver ignored a stop order. The driver accelerated, struck police vehicles twice and fled into a forest. The truck was carrying twelve containers of corrosive alkaline substances (likely sodium hydroxide). Officers recovered the containers, documents issued under multiple names, a driver's licence, and a substantial amount of cash. The driver was later located and arrested in the Wielkopolska region. The hazardous materials were secured by a fire‑service chemical patrol for further analysis.
