Polish villages host historic anniversary and midsummer celebrations

In Kwitajny, Warmian‑Masurian Voivodeship, a Biesiada Edukacyjno‑Historyczna marked the 745th anniversary of the settlement on 21 June. The event began with a mass, followed by activities at the historic Dohnhoff manor, including a concert, historical reenactments, a traditional cake, a Trakehner horse display and a fire show performed by the youth group Angels in the Fire. Local officials such as Pasłęk mayor Elżbieta Wasiuk and the Elbląg County starost presented congratulatory messages.

Meanwhile, in Paszkach Duże, Lublin Voivodeship, a Sobótka (Midsummer Night) celebration attracted residents for wreath‑making, folk contests, herb‑search games and live music by regional bands. The evening culminated in a procession to the river where participants released their wreaths into the water, accompanied by a bonfire and dancing.
