Polish Volunteer Fire Departments celebrate 100th anniversaries
Volunteer Fire Departments (OSP) in Pacyna and Kamień are celebrating their 100th anniversaries, marking a century of service and community involvement in Poland.
In Pacyna, the jubilee celebrations are scheduled for September 12. The program includes a mass at St. Lawrence Church, a ceremonial parade, and an official roll call. The event will conclude with community activities such as a grill, outdoor dancing, and various attractions for families.
In Kamień, the centenary will be observed on September 5. The festivities will feature a formal roll call at the fire station, followed by an educational family picnic and music. During the ceremony, the unit's banner will be decorated with the ‘Golden Sign of the ZOSP RP’, and medals will be awarded to current members for their service. The Kamień unit, founded in 1926, has evolved from using horse-drawn pumps to modern firefighting equipment.
