Polish Woman Charged for Attacking Ukrainian Driver in Częstochowa

A video posted online on 30 July shows a 48‑year‑old Polish woman assaulting a Ukrainian ride‑share driver in Częstochowa after he refused to stop at a shop. The driver, who was transporting a child, was struck in the head. Police located the driver, a 35‑year‑old Ukrainian citizen, who filed a complaint. The woman turned herself in, was detained, and transferred to the Częstochowa District Prosecutor’s Office, where she was charged with discrimination based on nationality. She was placed under police supervision, barred from approaching the victim, and required to provide a financial guarantee; the offence carries a potential five‑year prison term. Materials from the incident were also sent to a family court to assess the child’s situation.
