Chojna murder: 19‑year‑old son detained after woman killed

Police in the town of Chojna, western Pomerania, discovered the body of a woman at around 10:00 a.m. on 20 July. The investigation was led by the district police commander in Gryfino, who mobilised units from the preventive police, canine teams and drone operators. Within three hours the suspect—a 19‑year‑old man—was located at a nearby garden plot and detained. Media reports suggest the detained individual is the victim’s son, although the police have not confirmed this detail. The homicide is being examined as a possible family‑related dispute. A second woman present at the scene sustained injuries and was taken to hospital. All investigative actions are under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Gryfino.
