Politécnico de Tomar launches student talent competition and Erasmus heritage program
The Politécnico de Tomar (IPT) will hold the IPT Young Talent 2026 event on 8 July at its Tomar campus. Nineteen final projects submitted by vocational‑school students from the region will be presented in a pitch before a jury that includes representatives of the Tomar municipality, NERSANT, TagusValley and the Intermunicipal Community of Médio Tejo. Awards will be given for Best PAP, Best Pitch and Best Innovation Idea, and all finalists will receive certificates.
From 5 July to 11 July, the institute also hosts the fourth edition of the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Conservation and Restoration of Architectural Heritage. Seventeen students from five European universities – University of Dubrovnik (Croatia), Valahia University of Târgoviște (Romania), Akademia WIT (Poland), Trnava University (Slovakia) and Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University (Turkey) – will train on‑site at the Convento de Cristo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, developing skills in diagnosing, proposing interventions and conserving historic architecture.
