Mario Zamora criticizes 2027 federal budget for Sinaloa

Federal Deputy Mario Zamora Gastélum has denounced the 2027 Federal Expenditure Budget (PEF) for failing to allocate resources to critical infrastructure projects in Sinaloa. Specifically, Zamora noted the absence of funding for the Sinaloa Train and the Topolobampo-Chihuahua highway, projects deemed essential for regional economic development and tourism.

During a meeting with the Budget Commission, Zamora reported that the Undersecretary of Expenditures confirmed the lack of budgetary assignment for the proposed Sinaloa railway project. He contrasted this with the 42 billion pesos allocated to the Nuevo Laredo-Saltillo railway project. Zamora expressed concern that the federal government is neglecting the state despite the significant security and economic challenges Sinaloa currently faces.
