Political candidates emerge for Balearic Islands municipal elections
Political movements are intensifying in the Balearic Islands ahead of the 2027 municipal elections. In Alaior, the PSOE has officially designated Eduardo Robsy as its candidate. Robsy, an economist and jurist currently serving as a member of the Menorca Council, has proposed a platform centered on management, dialogue, and consensus to address what he describes as years of stagnation under the current PP administration.
Meanwhile, in Sant Antoni, lawyer and former senator Juanjo Ferrer is emerging as a potential candidate for a united progressive list. While Ferrer has remained cautious regarding these reports, he indicated a willingness to return to political leadership if there is unity among progressive forces. The discussions in Sant Antoni involve various groups, including PSOE, Esquerra Unida, Sumar, and Ara Eivissa, seeking to establish a consensus candidate for the municipality.
