Political mobilization in Angola and protest allegations in Mozambique

In Angola, the Organização da Mulher Angolana (OMA) has launched the ‘OMA em Movimento’ patriotic caravan. Led by Secretary-General Emília Carlota Dias, the initiative travels from Luanda toward Namibe province to mobilize women ahead of the 9th Ordinary Congress of the MPLA. The movement aims to promote unity, patriotism, and political participation while reaffirming support for MPLA President João Lourenço.

In Mozambique, members and supporters of the ANAMOLA party have alleged discriminatory treatment by the Mozambique Republic Police (PRM) in Nampula. During city anniversary celebrations, police reportedly prevented ANAMOLA members from marching as a group toward Praça dos Heróis, instructing them to proceed individually. Supporters claim that other political groups, including FRELIMO, RENAMO, MDM, and PODEMOS, were permitted to march together, prompting calls for clarification on the police intervention.
