Political shifts in Gaiman and Sauce Viejo

In Gaiman, Raúl Ferrero has assumed the role of interim mayor following the death of Darío James at age 55. Ferrero, previously the president of the Deliberative Council, took office in accordance with the Municipal Organic Charter, which dictates that the elected official next in the line of succession must fill a permanent vacancy. Ferrero is now responsible for calling elections for a new mayor, which must occur within a 60-day period. Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres issued a statement praising the late mayor as an honest and committed leader.

In Sauce Viejo, political tension has escalated between the Executive and the Municipal Council. Council members have accused Mayor Mario Papaleo of governing primarily through decrees and ignoring the legislative body. A central point of the dispute involves unpaid salaries for the six council members. Legislators claim that while municipal payroll documentation shows payments have been made, the funds have not actually been received. The Municipality has responded by questioning the Council's performance, alleging the body has remained paralyzed.
