Political succession in Gaiman, Chubut

Overview

Following the death of Gaiman Mayor Darío James, Raúl Ferrero assumed the role of interim mayor in accordance with the Municipal Organic Charter. As the former president of the Deliberative Council, Ferrero was tasked with calling for new elections to be held within a 60-day period.

Subsequently, Ferrero confirmed his candidacy for the municipal election scheduled for December 13. He intends to run under the Despierta Chubut banner with support from the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) to complete the term ending in 2027.
